Opportunities for Growth at Kirkland AFB Kirtland Air Force Base has an abundance of real estate without encroachment. The synergy among many of the base's nearly 200 associate units creates numerous opportunities for growth.
BASE OVERVIEW:
On the north side, the base is divided into an East Community Complex
and a West Industrial Complex. The south side of the base is occupied
by special test areas.
EAST COMMUNITY COMPLEX:
The base headquarters and Sandia National Laboratories headquarters,
as well as major buildings and many associate unit headquarters are
here. The base shopping area, chapel, officers and enlisted clubs and
base housing are located here.Space for administrative buildings is available.
WEST INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX:
The flying outfits and the Kirtland Directorates of the Air Force Research
Laboratory are here along with the other major military research and
development units.Space for research and development and test and evaluation facilities is available along with space for an operational flying unit.
SOUTH SIDE:
Special test activities of Sandia National Laboratories, the Department
of Energy and Air Force Research Laboratory are located here, along
with the base golf course and the Manzano Mountain Complex. Space is available for selected growth that does not interfere with existing test areas. |
