of air and space. 
- Employs approximately 400 military and civilian people
- An Air Force Materiel Command unit reporting to the Space and
Missile Systems Center in Los Angeles
- Close liaison with the Air Force Research Laboratory Phillips
Site Directorates at Kirtland AFB
- Only organization of its kind in the Department of Defense. It
can integrate experiments onto a satellite, mate the satellite to
a booster, launch the booster and put the satellite into space,
command and control the satellite in orbit and bring the satellite
back to earth when its mission is completed
